Shanghai Gowel Lock Co., Ltd. is located in Chong Ming Island, the third largest island in China. Its predecessor, Shanghai Bike Lock Factory, was China's largest bike lock manufacturer, founded in the early 1970s. With a history of over 20 years, Shanghai Gowel Lock Co., Ltd. is restructured and established on the solid foundation of a strong state-owned enterprise. 

The Company covers an area of more than 40,000 square meters, with a construction area of 20,000 square meters. Currently it has more than 300 employees, among them 70% are skilled workers with over 10 years of industry experience.

Shanghai Gowel Lock Co., Ltd. specializes in exporting bike locks to Asia, with a strong focus in Japan. The company has been working with Japan’s largest bike lock brand GORIN for over 2 decades, providing 6-7 million locks to it every year. Our bike locks occupy 75%-80% of the Japanese bike lock market.

The company also sells medium and high-grade precision lock cylinders. In recent years, Gowel has introduced several Taiwanese production lines for high-precision lock brackets and cylinders, and has exported hundreds of thousands of lock cylinders to France, Australia, and Europe.

Producing only the best quality products has always remained as the company’s business core, and is also the cornerstone of its research & development, manufacturing, and quality-control. Its solid quality control system and advanced product testing facilities have withstood the double tests of both time and market for more than 20 years.
